As of the 2010 United States Census, the township's population was 13,478,〔〔〔 reflecting an increase of 521 (+4.0%) from the 12,957 counted in the 2000 Census, which had in turn increased by 2,141 (+19.8%) from the 10,816 counted in the 1990 Census.〔(Table 7. Once an active volcano, the diabase mountain was formed 160 million years ago.
